Memorial Day Weekend 2010

Shad had a 4 day weekend for Memorial Day so his mom, who we now call Grandma :), came to visit in Arizona. We took this opportunity to travel a bit around the state since we will be leaving it again in just a couple of months. We still can't believe that of all the places in the world that we could have been stationed to, we are going back to Texas. But we are excited too! So here are some pictures from our trips around Arizona.

Sedona:

This place is stunningly beautiful. When we first drove in, Shad was asleep in the back seat, so I woke him up to tell him to look around. After he sat up, he said "Wow this is so amazing!" and he said it probably 100 more times that afternoon. It really is spectacular.

Shad's most awesome outfit. We love the high socks in the boots with the shorts. Hot stuff. This is why I married him.

This is at a modern cathedral built into the rocks. I really didn't think it was very cool, but the surroundings were great.

Oh the baby- he is the cutest!

More scenery.

The rocks were so red. It just isn't captured here.

These cactus are very mean looking and then they bloom such pretty flowers. Nature is strange.

Our little family.

Cortney and Grandma J. It was pretty windy and our hair was going crazy.

The grandest of canyons-

Tombstone, Arizona:

While his mom and dad were on a runaway stagecoach......

Nash was busy eating his stroller!

The actual shootout site between the Earps/Doc Holliday on the left and the Clantons on the right. These statues are set up just as they were during the shootout according the drawings by Wyatt Earp after the shootout. We even watched the re-enactment. I found it kind of creepy, the fascination that we have with killings that lasted less than 30 seconds and were so long ago, but Shad seemed to enjoy it. He even videotaped most of it- weird.

Grandma J and Nash in the park next to the OK Corral.

Howdy cowboys and cowgirls.

Nash is in the crapper.

Uh oh! The boys got locked up.

These trips were so much fun! We loved it.
The Littlewood Grandparents visited at the end of April, but I was bad about taking pictures and as of yet, my mom has not sent me any pictures from their visit. So Mom- until then I can't blog about your visit- hurry up!

Cute! (And I thought you married Shad because you thought he was a cowboy?…) I love the red rocks- pictures don't really do them justice.
