For my birthday in March, I bought myself awesome rodeo tickets to Josh Turner. For those of you who don't know who he is, youtube him and listen to his amazing voice. We had chute seats, which were on the 2nd row from the bull chutes. A steak dinner was included- which was actually really good. We also got unlimited refreshments during the rodeo including nachos, taquitos, ice cream, fresh veggies, chips, candy, cokes, etc. We couldn't even eat it all. We got to keep our folding chairs, too- we had folding chairs because we got to go down onto the main floor and sit right in front of the stage. Three reasons to love the Houston Rodeo:
1. One of the cowboys says an invocation at the opening of the rodeo- and he says Jesus Christ
2. The commentators make jokes about Rosie O'Donnell on The View (One of the bulls wouldn't leave the chute, and he said "It's like trying to get Rosie off of The View")
3. You never know what you might see- one of the bucking broncos came down wrong on his foot and it snapped in two right between the knee and ankle. It just hung there swinging back and forth, then started bleeding all over. The cowboy got a re-ride.
Here we are after eating our steak dinners in this special little tent that we were soooo thankful for because it was raining all day long.

Here we are in our seats with the arena floor behind us.
This is how close we were to the action. That is a guy getting on his horse for one of the bronc riding events.

(sigh) Josh Turner (sigh). I have the hots for him.

He was great live- one of my biggest requirements for being a good singer.

I won't bore you with more pictures of Josh, but if you want to see more go to my facebook page.

Finally, as we were leaving the floor, we asked a man to take our picture in front of chute 12. Isn't Shad cute in his cowboy clothes?
