I'm a PT!!

Well, it is now official. I passed my licensing exam yesterday and have accepted a job. We will be moving back to Sugar Land. This could really be interesting. We will see how Shad handles "the big city." Now I just have to find a place to live in one week. Fun!!

Shad's Beard....and a little Sushi

For all of those who cared to see Shad's somewhat pathetic attempt to grow a beard, here it is. The part under the chin grows well, minus the scar. What is so funny is the mustache. Mark would be so disappointed. Notice how red it is. Maybe we will get some red-headed children too!! And no, that doesn't mean we are expecting, Linsay.

Here is our little Sushi. He was feeling left out because we included Kinzie on our last post. He is so cute but we need to get him fixed soon so he isn't too much of a male. Sadly, I thought I had picked out a girl. So much for all those anatomy classes!

Okay....we finally gave in!!

I'm not really sure what I'm doing here. I can be assured this is a complete waste of time, just like Myspace and Facebook. But nevertheless, here I am creating our blog. Linsay finally talked me into it. So I guess I am supposed to start by introducing us....Here I go.

Shad and I were married in the Houston, Texas temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints about 3 1/2 years ago, on October 29, 2004 after 1 year of dating and a 1 year engagement. We have been in school for the majority of our relationship and are excited to be starting the new section of life where neither of us are paying tuition. Of course, we are still paying loans. We have one dog (Kinzie, who is honestly loved and treated as if she were a child) and one cat (Sushi, who is earning his love daily). Kinzie is 3 years old and Sushi is of unknown age but is still a kitten (and in the mean kitten phase).

I recently graduated from Texas State University-San Marcos with my Master of Science Physical Therapy degree. I am in the process of accepting my first REAL job. The process is actually a little nerve racking. Shad continues to do what I call "piddle around" on his classic cars. He actually does work really hard on those cars. Unfortunately, the progress is often quite slow and hard to recognize to the untrained eye. Shad does have a degree from Texas State University in Criminal Justice, however he is just choosing not to use it right now.

Because Shad works mainly in the garage at home, I get to make the decisions about where we get to live. So as I accept the most lucrative job offer, I am also in charge of finding an acceptable place to call home. We have decided not to buy a house yet, but to continue renting, as Shad's future is so uncertain. What I mean is that he is trying to decide ( and has received an official deadline of December 2008) if the car business will work or if he will pursue another career. He is thinking of joining the military, the fire department or police department, or continuing his education in law school. Anyway, we will be moving into a rental home shortly.... we just don't have one yet.

Last winter, Shad, my dad, and I all went out to the San Jacinto monument and the Battleship Texas. It was actually cold and rainy and somewhat miserable. But Shad and I are nerdy, and we enjoy history. Shad had never been on the ship before so it was fun for him to see. I think it convinced him of his desire to not join the Navy because he doesn't want to have to live in such close quarters with other stinky men. The Battleship is the only one still in existence from both WWI and II. All the others have been destroyed.

So.......how did I do with the first post? I believe it has been requested that we post a picture of Shad's attempt at a beard. It will have to come later, so keep checking back because I am becoming quite a professional blogger. :D
