So we had a baby...
Nash Caleb Jarvis was born on Feb. 15, 2010 at 2:09 pm. He weighed 5 lbs 12 oz. and was 20 inches long. No surprise that he is long and skinny just like Shad. I went into the hospital on Sunday night to get Cervadil (however you spell it). I guess that when they put the monitor on my stomach, they could see that Nash's heartrate dropped too low a couple of times that night and then again in the morning. My contractions from the Cervadil began around 3 am, but they were too irregular I think to be considered real labor contractions. Because of the heartrate issue, they notified my doctor in the morning, and she came around 9:30 or so to break my water and place an internal monitor on the baby's head. Just prior to that, they started me on Pitocin. So very quickly my pain with contractions went from a 2 to a 7, so an epidural was placed very soon after that. Luckily, the anesthesiologist was right next door (she delivered only an hour before me). After that, everything was peachy. Shad arrived at 12:30, I started pushing just after 1 pm, and Nash came out a little over an hour later- sideways none-the-less. That is right, he came through me facing left, so thank goodness he was small or we might have had some real issues! My epidural was already wearing off by then so I felt some pressure but no real pain, but I was able to quickly recover and get to the bathroom because of that. Unfortunately, I did throw up afterwards, but that is the most of complaints. My pain wasn't bad after the delivery, and it wasn't until my milk "came in" that I was uncomfortable at all. THAT was pure misery. I never want my boobs to feel that huge and tight every again! Well, that too subsided eventually, and I am left with a beautiful, healthy, little boy.

such a little sweetie - I bet his daddy is glad to have both of you with him. Maybe not when he starts crying during the night and he has to be as the base so early in the morning, but thats the joy of parenthood. It prepares you for all the other ups and downs as they grow up!!
And here he finally is on the blog! Your story reminded me of my 1st labor. Both of my boys have been posterior (face up) so that always makes pushing a joy! :) Hope you and Nash are getting settled in with Shad finally! Miss you guys.
