Vacation highlights

Our trip over Christmas and New Years to Utah and Kansas was fun and tiring. We managed to come home sick, as usual with vacations, and we are just now finally feeling recovered. Here are some highlights from our weeks on vacation.

Shad and I, along with Nate, Brandon and friends, went snowboarding at Sundance while we were in Utah. It snowed the whole day and was bitterly cold (in the opinion of a southerner). Hence the reason I prefer spring skiing. The following picture is our car after the day of boarding. I think it snowed like 12-13 inches that day. Yikes. And then they had me (again, a southerner, who sees snow once in a blue moon) drive back down the mountain. Of course it was no probem, as I am an expert driver. ;)

We got to spend time with my sister, Hilary, and her family. I miss them because I only get to see them every couple of years. And usually by that time, she has had another one! hehe.

All 6 kids and us
(left to right is Brayden, Cortney holding Anna, Bella, Shad holding William and Landon, and TJ perched up on the couch like a bird)

Me and the girls. Aren't they beautiful?

Next was Kansas. Oh how we love Kansas! The weather was actually nice, though the tumbleweeds and sand are enough to make a sane person crazy (hmmm...interesting).

The classic Carly cheese face. Just had to share it.

Stacie and Derek, who we don't get to see enough of either. They are both beautiful.

The things you come up with in Kansas to entertain yourself when your parents tell you no more Wii. Playing inside plastic bags is always what I consider a safe and wholesome activity. Don't they have a warning label on the box of trash bags about this?

Shad and Carly on the sand dunes. I just like this picture.
